This is our second night in Ireland. Our first day, after arriving at 6am local time (and getting almost no sleep on the plane), we drove through Limerick and Tipperary to Cashel. There, we visited the Rock of Cashel, a ruined cathedral and former seat of kings of Ireland. Afterwards, we drove down past Cork to the coastal town of Codb (pronounced "Cove"). This town was the last port of call of both the Titantic and the Lusitania, and they had a very interesting museum about it that we visited today. We also went to a graveyard where several mass graves of the unidentified casualties from the Lusitania sinking were buried. A local gentleman informed us that this graveyard was also the final resting place for many who died from shipwrecks. Those graves were identified by an engraved anchor, and were people from many nationalities.

After leaving Codb, we drove to Midleton and toured the Jameson Whiskey distillery. That was also neat, and we got a free whiskey sample after the tour. Then we drove back past Cork to Kinsale, where we're staying tonight. The streets of Kinsale are quite narrow, on some of them only a single car can pass and you need to pull over. There are also some rather steep hills, and this B&B is right on the side of one of them. It does give us a great view of the water and the many sailboats.

Took this of a gold coke bottle in a vending machine at Shannon Airport. We were waiting for our bags and I checked it out to see what "crisps" they had, and saw this bottle staring out at me. Apparently you could win a bunch of euro's if it was the right bottle. I had no change, but I've mostly given up caffeine anyways, so no big loss. UPDATE: Got one of these later in the trip, all you can win is a free bottle. 1 in 10 wins, and between Ann and I we had about 6 with no luck.
